Hi!
I’m Erin Rosales and I am a writer, photographer and marketer living in Southern California.
I post on my blog Modern Notebook about food, style, and local places. More than ever lately, I love cooking and baking. This isn’t strictly a food blog, but it may as well be. I currently live in Claremont, CA with my husband Paul and our two kids, Maggie and Noah. Before moving to Claremont, we lived in Santa Monica for a few years.
In addition to writing and marketing, I also work in early childhood education. I am currently substitute teaching for my local school district. This work has inspired me to create a digital download shop on Etsy focused on activities for the preschool and lower elementary crowd.
Writing
I have been sharing my writing on the internet since the days of LiveJournal, about two decades ago at this point. I started the blog Modern Notebook during college and have been sharing my honest thoughts, recommendations and recipes ever since, both here and on social media. While in college at Cal Poly Pomona, I was news editor of the student newspaper, The Poly Post. I wrote several front-page articles, edited countless stories, and involved myself in YouTube videos.

Marketing
I have worked on various brands in both large and small roles, including Lorac cosmetics, J Brand Jeans, got2b hair care and Theorie hair care. As a communications coordinator, I marketed a non-fiction book, The Patient’s Playbook. I worked on a team promote the book during the author’s book tour through a newsletter, blog posts, and social media. I also have experience updating and designing websites, including this one you’re reading. Right now, I am taking select clients with a focus on small businesses and non-profits looking to improve engagement with their communities.
