I got one of these Gap modern stripe ballet back shirts, then within a month I ordered another one. It’s that good. I ordered the first in my current size but it fit loose, so I sized down for the second one. I have it in “coral & blue stripe” and “yellow stripe.” Unfortunately, it’s on final sale now and running low.
I like that it’s 3/4 sleeves because I feel like that’s perfect for fall days when it’s cold in the morning and warm in the afternoon.
I also have 3 of a certain Uniqlo tank top. It seems to only be available in the spring and summer. I was really looking forward to getting one last season but the fit is different and I don’t like it as much. I actually got the newer one in a size large (had to return a medium) and it still fits tighter than the old style tanks in a size medium.
Recently, I got a black and white striped crew neck tank top from American Eagle. I just might get more colors in this same style soon. It’s got that 90s style vibe but doesn’t make me feel like I’m dressing like a teenager.
I don’t know if it’s my age and stage in life or what but I feel like I’m much happier getting multiples of a shirt I know I like in a few different colors then having a more varied wardrobe. It just makes shopping and styling easier.
Now I just need to find basic T shirts that I’m happy with. The Target ones I have got stretched out too soon, especially my Universal Thread V neck. Maggie pulls on it every time I wear it and the fabric seems to stretch easily. I like the Old Navy EveryWear Graphic Tee for Women (omg I need this one) but they’re not the greatest quality.
Lately I’m trying to recognize what I like to wear and evaluate my closet again. My style has changed at least a little in the last few years and I want to buy things I know I like, not clothes that I’ll end up replacing soon.
Speaking of multiples, have any of you dear readers watched the TLC show Outdaughtered? It’s a reality show centered on a couple with quintuplets in addition to a daughter who is a few years older. I watch it sometimes when it’s on but usually don’t sit and watch the whole episode. Can you imagine having 5 girls the same age plus an older daughter. I’m amazed every time I watch it.
I think it’s a great idea to get a shirt in multiples that you’ve found you love. Style definitely changes as you get older. I feel like my style is changing as I’ve become a breastfeeding mom. Right now all I want to wear is shirts I can easily breastfeed in.
That makes perfect sense.
