So, I haven’t posted anything in a year and a half. I fell off the grid. But I can never stay away forever. I wish I hadn’t left.
I miss blogging. It gives me a reason to write, take photos, and plan recipes, all things that I’ve loved doing since I was a kid. I want to continue and not let life get in the way.
What have I been up to? Well, I got busy with wedding planning, finishing a family cookbook, the wedding and honeymoon, followed by a new job, and, more recently, moving. I also took two classes at a nearby college during this time, one in person and one online. This past spring, my husband, Mom, and I went to visit relatives in Boise, one of my favorite places to be. That’s what’s been happening with me since I last blogged. I also got pregnant in April. As I write this, I’m about 5 months pregnant.
In July, my husband Paul and I moved to Claremont, CA from Santa Monica. We’re much closer to both our families now. It’s not like we were super far before but, as everyone says, traffic is killer in LA. It’s going to be especially nice to have family close by when our little one is born. I also like that Claremont seems like a very family-friendly town. We’ve been enjoying the Friday Nights Live concert series that runs from May through October and it’s nice to see so many family enjoy it too.
Besides the location, another thing I love about our new place is the kitchen. It’s much bigger than the tiny kitchen in our last apartment. Before, I would have to use our small dining table as landing space for food prep or baked goods. Now, there is adequate counter space and I haven’t done that once in our new kitchen. I hope to get back to using cooking and baking as a creative outlet and coming up with new recipes to share with you all.
Now that I’m getting back to blogging, you can expect to see more recipe posts and other food-related content, as well as travel, style, and beauty posts. I want to share about my wedding, the honeymoon, and maternity style soon. If there’s anything in particular you want to see on this blog, let me know.
