The banana split sandwich

The banana split sandwich

You know those days when you go from upset to angry to sad to angry and through it all you’re just so tired? Then you realize you have been a jerk for no reason at all, or at least no good reason? Also, your stomach hurts, you feel dizzy and your eyeballs need caffeine. Ladies, you know what I’m talking about.

That’s where this recipe post is coming from. For the past 24 hours or so, I’ve been feeling a little under the weather. I decided I was going to stop being in a bad mood and hiding under the covers. The solution? Make my self something delicious and (only somewhat) nutritious. Treat Yo’ Self!

First out came the bread, that I left in the toaster and came back for an hour later. Then came the Nutella out of the pantry, because hey, it’s delicious. I spotted a spotted banana and thought about making a chocolate, banana and jam sandwich. But when I looked to the refrigerator, things got interesting.

I present to you, what shall henceforth be known as The Banana Split Sandwich.

Ingredients:

2 slices of bread
1 banana
3-4 strawberries
About 1 tablespoon Nutella
About 1 tablespoon vanilla yogurt

Spread Nutella on one slice of bread and vanilla yogurt on the other. (I used honey flavored yogurt, but only because that’s what I had in the fridge. Vanilla or unsweetened would work well too.) Arrange the strawberries and bananas however you like. Sprinkle some cinnamon in there for good measure.

There you have it, folks! Try it out for yourself if you don’t believe me. I assure you it will make you smile like a kid in an ice cream shop.

Just a short post today! I’ll have a longer one up tomorrow about my writing process. In the meantime, you can check out these posts on All Things E and Betsy Transatlantically. Thanks for tagging me, Betsy!
